The "Al-Kora Ma'a Fayeq" program revealed the behind-the-scenes details of the crisis involving the Egyptian national team's technical staff, led by Hossam Hassan, and the Pharaohs' players. It indicated that Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, used abusive language towards the players during the match against Angola.
Mohamed Salah left the Egyptian national team camp following the match against Angola in the first round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which ended in a goalless draw, after being substituted in the 61st minute of the game.
Crisis in the Egyptian National Team
Sports critic Ahmed Abdel Basit stated on the "Al-Kora Ma'a Fayeq" program, broadcast on "MBC Masr 2": "If Khaled El-Darndaly submits his report to the Football Association detailing everything that happened in this camp, Ibrahim Hassan will be dismissed."
He added: "Starting from the statements made before the Angola match, there were warnings that remarks should remain disciplined. Furthermore, Mohamed Salah and the players are angry due to the abuse directed at them on the bench five minutes after Salah was substituted out of the Angola match by Ibrahim Hassan. The players were accused of lacking integrity regarding attendance, including Salah."
He clarified: "Hossam Hassan apologized afterwards, saying: 'I don't know how I did that; I didn't mean it.' However, the words directed at the players caused anger among all of them. Khaled El-Darndaly learned about what happened but wanted the camp to pass peacefully."
He continued: "If solutions are not implemented and communication is not established with Salah and the angry players, they will not be present in the next national team camp. This includes Marmoush, Salah, and Abdel Monem. Additionally, all the players who were on the bench are angry due to the language directed at them."
He concluded: "Ibrahim Hassan abused the players, and two incidents occurred in the camp. At ten o'clock at night, they searched for him, but he was not present; he had been absent since ten o'clock at night. All these are reasons that could lead to his dismissal."
