Khaled El-Darndaly, Vice President of the Egyptian Football Association, expressed his great happiness with the victory achieved by the Pharaohs over South Sudan in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian national team defeated its host, South Sudan, by five goals to nil, in the match that brought the two teams together this evening, Tuesday, at Juba Stadium, as part of the second round of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The head of the Egyptian national team's delegation in South Sudan affirmed that today's victory with such a result reflects the state of focus and determination shown by all players and the technical staff.

Khaled El-Darndaly said in official statements: "We are very happy with this win, the performance, and the spirit displayed by the national team. Most importantly, we witnessed great determination from the players and the technical staff to quickly return to the path of victories, especially after the goalless draw against Angola."

He added: "The team's performance today was good despite the difficulty of the temperature, as well as the tartan surface of the stadium pitch. Everyone stands behind the Egyptian national team, and we all work to make the people of Egypt happy."

He continued: "The board of directors of the Football Association, headed by Hany Abo Rida, contacted us after the match to congratulate the technical staff and players on the win, conveying their appreciation for the effort they made, and confirming the continuation of work with the same spirit and focus in the coming period."

He completed: "I thank the staff of the Egyptian Embassy in South Sudan for everything they provided to the national team during the trip. The delegation returns tomorrow because Juba Airport closes its doors at six in the evening."

Regarding the statements of Hossam Hassan, the national team manager, who praised Mohamed El-Shenawy and the role of clubs in the Premier League, he said: "Hossam Hassan was keen to clarify his previous statements."

Khaled El-Darndaly concluded his statements saying: "Hossam Hassan wanted to express his appreciation for all parties involved, emphasizing the contribution of clubs to the success of the national teams, particularly those that provide players to the national squads, especially those achieving continental titles."
