Trabzon Mayor Ahmed Metin Genç spoke about Mohamed Salah's transfer to Trabzonspor during the current summer transfer window, explaining that this deal is not ordinary.
Trabzonspor signed Mohamed Salah during the current summer transfer window as a free agent, in a contract that extends for two seasons, until the end of the 2028 season.
Metin Genç expressed his great happiness at Mohamed Salah's transfer to Trabzonspor, explaining that the Egyptian international will contribute to enhancing the status of Trabzon city in terms of tourism.
Genç said in an interview with the "ON Sport" channel, which was reported by the "61saat" network, where he said: "We have overwhelming happiness and great pride in contracting with the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, who is considered among the best football players in the world".
He added: "The city of Trabzon was overwhelmed with joy after contracting with Mohamed Salah, as more than 25 thousand Trabzon citizens welcomed him at the airport".

He explained: "This transfer contributed to bringing great enthusiasm and joy to our city, as the mayor of Trabzon, I am pleased to share this joy with everyone, and I hope that Mohamed Salah achieves brilliant successes wearing the Trabzonspor shirt, and brings joy and happiness to our city".
He continued: "Trabzon is considered an important tourist destination and tourists prefer to come to it, because of its sea, in addition to tourism, history, green spaces and the natural beauty it enjoys. Last year, tourists from 188 different countries visited our city, and the importance of our city and its tourism potential is increasing day by day, and in particular, the arrival of a Muslim football player, one of the most prominent stars in the world, Mohamed Salah, will contribute significantly to the development of tourism in Trabzon".
He continued: "I believe that interest in the city of Trabzon will increase with Mohamed Salah's transfer, and our city will gain great momentum in the field of tourism, and indeed, the start of adopting direct flights from Egypt to Trabzon after Salah's transfer is one of the most important indicators of that, and I believe that this will bring a qualitative shift in the tourism sector in general, not only in terms of tourism relations between Turkey and Egypt, but also in Trabzon specifically".
