Atlético Madrid announced their signing of Morten Hjulmand coming from Sporting Lisbon.

The Danish midfielder signed a contract for a period of 5 seasons until 2031.
The 27-year-old had joined Sporting Lisbon in 2023 coming from Italian Lecce.
The deal cost Atlético Madrid 40 million euros and another 5 million as add-ons.
Hjulmand participated in 141 matches wearing the Sporting Lisbon jersey and managed to score 10 goals and provide 12 assists.
During the past season, Hjulmand played 45 matches for the team and scored 3 goals and made 6 others.
During his years with Sporting Lisbon, the team won the Portuguese League twice and the Portuguese Cup once.
Hjulmand became Atlético Madrid's second signing during the current summer transfer period after signing Alejandro Garnacho, Bayer Leverkusen's full-back.
Atlético Madrid finished last season in third place in the Spanish League standings behind Barcelona and Real Madrid.
