In the final, Egypt awaits the winner of the match between Greece and Portugal to determine their opponent for the gold medal, amid high aspirations for the team to continue its successful journey, clinch the gold, and have the national anthem played on the podium.
Egypt's qualification for the final crowns the journey they have presented since the tournament began, having achieved a perfect record in the group stage with three consecutive victories.

The Pharaohs began their campaign with a 38-27 victory over Portugal, before continuing their brilliance by overwhelming Kosovo 42-21, then concluding the group stage with an important win against host nation Italy by a score of 25-22, securing first place in the group with a perfect record.
The team's brilliance did not stop at the group stage, as they successfully overcame the challenge of Algeria in the semifinals, despite the strength of the encounter and the intense competitiveness displayed in this Arab summit, confirming the Pharaohs' rightful presence in the final match.
Egypt's medal tally has risen to 35 diverse medals at the "Taranto 2026" Mediterranean Games, comprising 11 gold, 11 silver, and 13 bronze medals.
The competitions of the 20th edition of the Mediterranean Games are currently being held in the Italian city of Taranto and will continue until September 3, with the participation of 3,803 athletes from 26 countries.
The Egyptian delegation is competing in 23 sports at the Mediterranean Games: archery, athletics, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoe and kayak, equestrian, fencing, aquatic games and short-course swimming, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, padel, rowing, sailing, shooting, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, fin swimming, and amateur luge.
Egypt ranks sixth on the list of countries with the most medals in the history of the Mediterranean Games, with a total of 620 diverse medals: 156 gold, 209 silver, and 255 bronze.
