The Egyptian team managed to secure victory despite the strength of the Greek squad, allowing the Pharaohs to ascend the podium and claim the handball gold.
Egypt's gold-medal triumph came following an outstanding tournament campaign, during which they achieved a perfect record in the group stage by defeating Portugal, Kosovo, and Italy, before overcoming Algeria in the semifinals and concluding their journey with a win over Greece in the final.
The Egyptian team participated with a roster predominantly featuring second-team players, young talents, and local athletes, as several professionals were absent due to commitments with their clubs, given that the Mediterranean Games are not included in the international calendar.
