The Egyptian Football Association confirmed in an official statement its follow-up of all disciplinary procedures initiated by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) against some members of the first team, following the events that took place in the 2026 World Cup tournament after the Argentina match.

The Association said in an official statement via its "Facebook" account: "The Egyptian Football Association is following the disciplinary procedures initiated by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) against Hossam Hassan, the technical director of the national first football team, and Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, and the player Mustafa Ziko, following their statements after the Egypt and Argentina match in the 2026 World Cup".

The Association indicated its respect for FIFA regulations, stating: "The Association confirms its respect for FIFA regulations and procedures, and the necessary responses and legal memoranda will be submitted within the specified deadlines, while confirming support and assistance for those concerned with the procedures and defending the rights of Egyptian football through official channels".

The Association concluded its statement: "The Association also emphasizes its respect for the principles of fair play and the organizing bodies, while retaining its full right to defend the interests of the technical staff and players before the competent authorities at FIFA".

The Egypt and Argentina match had witnessed many statements from the trio, following the refereeing crises that the match went through, most notably the disallowance of a goal for the Egyptian team, ending the meeting with the Pharaohs' loss and bidding farewell to the tournament after reaching a historic achievement.
