Yalla Kora obtained a copy of a letter from the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, which was sent to the Egyptian Football Association, regarding statements made by Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, before and after the match against Argentina in the World Cup.
The letter clarified that Hossam Hassan made statements of a non-sporting nature, as described, on the day before the match and during the press conference, after expressing his support for the Palestinian cause and his desire for the liberation of Palestine.
It also noted that after the match ended, the Egyptian national team coach spoke about Argentina having an advantage in the race to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, suggesting that this might be related to marketing factors or the fact that the Argentine team is the reigning World Cup champion.
It further stated that Hossam Hassan described what the Egyptian national team faced as deliberately unfair treatment, asserting from his perspective that justice was not present in the tournament, and that external and internal factors improperly influenced the course of the match.
The letter confirmed that the Egyptian national team head coach accused the authorities of failing to apply the principles of fair play and respect promoted by FIFA, considering that they were not present to the required extent during the encounter.
