Goal News – Football Federation contacts three federations to arrange a friendly match in September

The Egyptian national team is looking to schedule a friendly match during the upcoming September international break.

Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, revealed in a statement to the Football Association's website that the team is considering playing a friendly, with preparations to be made in the coming hours.

FilGoal.com has learned that the Football Association has contacted three federations to arrange a friendly match against one of them during the upcoming September camp.

The association has contacted the national teams of Tanzania, Ghana, and Rwanda, awaiting an agreement with one of these teams, according to FilGoal.com

The Egyptian national team will face Angola at 10:00 PM on September 25 at Cairo Stadium, in the first round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Egypt's second qualifier match will be against South Sudan on September 29 in Juba, at 3:00 PM Cairo time.

The Egyptian national team is in Group 2 of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, alongside Angola, South Sudan, and Malawi.

The Egyptian national team holds the record for the most Africa Cup of Nations titles with seven championships.

Egypt finished fourth in the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco in 2025.

Egypt also advanced to the Round of 16 at the World Cup before being eliminated by Argentina.
