Beşiktaş issued an official statement, criticizing the refereeing after their match against Alanyaspor, which took place on Sunday evening.

Beşiktaş attacked the match referee in their statement: "A stain on the record of Turkish refereeing."
The Beşiktaş statement added, "Referee Adnan Deniz Kaayatepe added another disgraceful performance to his record, continuing his previous approach as if nothing had changed, following his blatant decisions in last year's Turkish Cup semi-final."
Last year, Beşiktaş lost to Konyaspor 0-1 in the cup semi-final, with the goal coming from a penalty in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
The club's statement continued, "An opposing player slapped the player - Trossard - in front of everyone; yet, the referee did not see the incident, while the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), Bülent Biringi Oğlu, remained silent."
It continued, "The player - Oh Hyeon-gyu - successfully broke free from his opponent's tackle during a physical challenge and scored a goal, but the referee disallowed the goal simply because the opposing player fell to the ground in a theatrical manner."
The statement added, "The player - Vlahovic - was brought down to the ground while attempting to enter the penalty area, but the referee ignored the incident once again."

Beşiktaş concluded, "We completely reject the idea of referees lacking integrity officiating our matches in the future... We are not seeking advantages or special privileges, but we only demand fair and equal refereeing. We will continue our legitimate struggle with firmness and determination until this unjust system changes."
Beşiktaş is currently in 11th place in the Turkish league table with 3 points after two rounds.
