The newspaper "Sport" revealed today a great anger from Barcelona club towards the team's midfield star, Frenkie de Jong, who is currently recovering from an injury he suffers from at the knee level.
De Jong was injured while participating with the Netherlands national team during the World Cup competitions last month, during the match between the windmills and the Netherlands, in the round of 32 of the competition.
It was confirmed that De Jong is suffering from a torn knee ligament, which will make him miss the pitches for a period ranging from four to six months.
Sport confirmed that De Jong's injury situation raises concern for Barcelona, while there is great anger towards the player, in light of the 29-year-old's refusal to undergo surgery and follow conservative treatment.
It added that Barcelona believes that the conservative treatment that De Jong is following to recover is no longer useful, as more than six weeks have passed since the player was injured in the World Cup, and in return his condition has not improved.
It explained that there is concern from De Jong's management about his physical condition since last winter, as the player's situation was greatly affected by his desire to be ready to play in the World Cup with the Netherlands.
De Jong has not played a full match with Barcelona since last February 22, as he missed nine matches and played in only six matches until the end of the season, lost his starting position, and then missed the last two matches in the Spanish League, before participating in the World Cup.

It continued that the dispute between Barcelona and De Jong began with the latter's participation in all of the Netherlands' matches in the World Cup, to clarify to the Catalan club that the medical staff of his country's national team had misdiagnosed his injury, and believed that he was able to play without the risk of worsening the injury.
After the World Cup, Sport reported that De Jong chose to follow conservative recovery for four weeks before assessing whether surgery was necessary, which ignited the dispute between the player and the Blaugrana
De Jong believes that these four weeks should begin from his return to training, but Barcelona sees the matter differently, as the club believes that the player was following the same recovery approach before his return, so there is no justification for repeating this type of recovery, as conservative treatment took much longer than usual.
Barcelona currently insists on De Jong undergoing surgery and starting recovery, according to a specific timetable, but the player is still hesitant, and wants to give himself more time for conservative treatment.
If De Jong's absence is prolonged, Barcelona will explore the idea of registering another player in his place as previously mentioned, in addition to obtaining compensation from FIFA due to De Jong's injury with the Netherlands.
Sport confirmed that De Jong's absence represents a real problem for Barcelona coach Hans Flick, who relies on the player primarily alongside Pedri, and wants to know the date of his return, which has caused a state of extreme concern in the Spanish club.
