Media reports today spoke about the latest developments regarding the fate of the next coach of the Dutch national team, following Ronald Koeman's departure from his post after the Oranges' failure at the World Cup.
Koeman left his position as coach of the Dutch national team due to the disappointing level shown by the Oranges at the World Cup, where the team exited in the round of 32 at the hands of Morocco on penalties.
The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Louis van Gaal, the former Barcelona coach, has offered himself to coach the Dutch national team in a potential fourth term.
The source confirmed that Van Gaal has recovered from prostate cancer, which he had been suffering from and which caused him to step away from coaching since the end of his stint with the Dutch national team after their quarter-final exit at the 2022 World Cup against Argentina.

Van Gaal said, quoting the Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf": "The health problems are now in the past."
Van Gaal coached the Netherlands on three occasions, the first during 2000, before leaving in November 2001, and returning to the Oranges again in 2012, where he remained in his post until 2014.
Van Gaal's third and final term with the Netherlands was in 2021, before he left at the end of 2022 due to his battle with cancer.
The newspaper reported that the Dutch Football Association has not contacted Van Gaal, while several candidates have been put forward to succeed Koeman, including Arne Slot, the former Liverpool coach, and Erik ten Hag, the former Manchester United coach.
