Saudi press reports have discussed the future of Al-Hilal star and Saudi national team captain Salem Al-Dawsari, who is set to enter a free-agent period in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Salem Al-Dawsari's contract with Al-Hilal expires in the summer of 2027, meaning he will be eligible to sign with any club if he fails to reach an agreement on renewing his contract with the "Asian Giants."
According to the Saudi newspaper "Okaz," staying and renewing his contract with Al-Hilal remains Salem Al-Dawsari's top priority; meanwhile, several Saudi and Gulf clubs are awaiting the future of the capital club's star in hopes of securing his services for free.
The 35-year-old has not started any match for Al-Hilal this season due to an injury that will also prevent him from joining the "Saudi Green" squad for the 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup, scheduled for next September.
Salem Al-Dawsari underwent a rehabilitation program following surgery on the patellar tendon of his right knee on July 21, and he is expected to return fully fit by next November.
According to the website "Transfermarkt," Salem Al-Dawsari has participated in 484 matches, scoring 141 goals and providing 106 assists.
