The Spanish national team wrote a new chapter in football history after securing a big win against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
Spain thrashed their Croatian guests 4-1 on Tuesday evening, in Matchday 2 of the 2026-2027 UEFA Nations League tournament.
Historic record for the Spanish national team
With this victory, the Spanish team reaches 40 consecutive matches without defeat, becoming the first men's international football team in history to achieve such an unbeaten run.
During this streak, Spain achieved 31 wins and 9 draws, following their last defeat against Colombia in a friendly match in March 2024.
It is worth noting that Spain won Euro 2024 during this historic streak, followed by the 2026 World Cup.
In addition, "La Roja" has won their last 9 matches across all competitions, equalling their best winning streak under current coach Luis de la Fuente, which they previously achieved between June and July 2024.
