Amid a series of victories and goals, the Spanish national team recently appeared to know no other path than finding the back of its opponents' nets, but only two teams managed to stop this flood and force "La Furia Roja" to leave the pitch without scoring any goals.
During this recent period, the Spanish team continued to confirm its attacking strength, having succeeded in scoring against most of its opponents, whether in official or friendly matches, leading up to its participation in the World Cup and the Nations League.
But amidst this offensive surge, only two matches emerged in which Spain left without shaking the opponent's net.
From September 7, 2025, to September 29, 2026, Spain played 19 matches and succeeded in scoring in 17 of them, while failing to crack the defenses of only two teams: Egypt and Cape Verde.
Egypt and Cape Verde... The safety valve against the flood
The first match was against Egypt, in the friendly encounter that brought the two teams together on March 31, 2026, ending in a goalless draw.
Although the match was a friendly ahead of the World Cup kickoff, Egypt managed to keep a clean sheet against one of the strongest teams in the world, denying Spain from scoring.
As for the second match, it came at the start of Spain's journey in the 2026 World Cup, when they faced Cape Verde, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
After the draw against Cape Verde, the Spanish team returned to its usual habit of finding the net and continued its campaign in the tournament until it clinched the World Cup title, before resuming its matches in the Nations League.
Spain's flood continues to trample opponents
In its latest appearance, the Spanish team continued its offensive displays by winning against Croatia with a score of 4-1, after having previously defeated England 3-2 in the first round of the Nations League.
With this victory, the Spanish team reaches 40 consecutive matches without defeat, becoming the first men's international football team in history to achieve such a streak of games without loss.
The last defeat experienced by the Spanish team in an official match dates back to March 28, 2023, against Scotland in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
