South African national team player Emile Akon confirmed that the Egyptian national team is one of the biggest teams in Africa.
The South African national team will be a guest of Egypt tomorrow evening, Sunday, at Cairo Stadium, marking the end of matches during the current international break period.
Emile Okon said in statements carried by the official website of the South African Football Association: "We are looking forward to ending the current FIFA transfer window with a positive result against Egypt."
He added: "Egypt is one of the biggest teams in Africa, and as a player, you always wish to face the best teams and always seek to challenge yourself."
He concluded: "So I believe the team feels excited, and we are very enthusiastic about facing them, testing our abilities, and showing our true potential. I think all the players are extremely excited."
The South African national team defeated Guinea 2-1 at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg at the end of last week, and Eritrea 5-0 at Al Salam Stadium in Cairo on Wednesday, in the first and second round qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Foreign press reports revealed that Molefe is expected to make extensive changes to his team's lineup against Egypt, compared to those who earned six valuable points in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Pitso Mosimane took over coaching the South African national team, succeeding Hugo Broos, the previous head coach.
