Liverpool coach Arne Slot settled his stance on coaching the Netherlands national team, after being nominated to lead the Windmills following their elimination from the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.
The Netherlands national team had bid farewell to the World Cup after losing to the Morocco national team on penalty kicks from the round of 32, before Ronald Koeman left his post.
Slot spoke clearly about his position on coaching the Netherlands national team in statements published by the Dutch "De Telegraaf": "I want to continue coaching European football clubs".

Slot put an end to the speculations linking him to coaching the Netherlands national team, after he was the preferred choice of former player Nigel de Jong to lead the Windmills in the coming period.
The Dutch Football Association will have to look for other options, while it is unlikely that he will coach Saudi Al-Ahli Jeddah club due to his preference to remain in the European continent.
