Arne Slot, the former manager of Liverpool, confirmed his unwillingness to coach the Netherlands.
Slot entered the circle of candidates to coach the Netherlands national team after Ronald Koeman's departure following the 2026 World Cup.
Slot said in statements reported by the Dutch newspaper Telegraaf: "I want to continue working in European club football".
Slot is considered Nigel de Jong's top candidate to coach the Dutch national team, but he forced the federation to look for other options.
His statements also appear to rule out a move to coach Al Ahli Jeddah, as the coach prefers to continue his coaching career with a European club.
Slot spent two seasons with Liverpool, where he won the English league title, but left after results deteriorated in his second season.
Koeman departed after the Netherlands' disappointing exit from the round of 32 in the World Cup at the end of June, following a penalty shootout loss to Morocco (2-3).
The Dutch national team is preparing for a heated clash against Germany in the UEFA Nations League on September 24.
