Real Madrid Club has begun its official moves to sign Spanish midfielder Rodri of Manchester City, amid the Royal Club's desire to strengthen its midfield with a strong deal during the current transfer window.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a transfer news specialist, Real Madrid made the first contact with Manchester City to inquire about the possibility of signing Rodri, and verbal talks have already begun between the two clubs regarding the deal.
He explained that Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, gave the green light to move toward signing the player, noting that this represents a change in his stance, as previous reports indicated that the club president did not want to sign Rodri.
According to Romano, Real is prepared to submit an offer exceeding 50 million euros, but completing the deal will not be easy, especially since Rodri represents an important element in Manchester City's project, which is seeking to renew his contract that ends in the summer of 2027.
Several previous reports had indicated that Rodri, captain of the Spanish national team, is seeking to return to his country, so the 30-year-old player welcomes the idea of playing for Real Madrid.
