Italian club Napoli has announced the signing of Benoît Badiashile, a defender from Chelsea, during the current summer transfer window.
In an official statement, Napoli clarified that Badiashile has been signed on a one-season loan deal with an option to buy.
Badiashile departed Chelsea amidst a new era for the London club following the appointment of Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, the former technical director of Real Madrid.
He joined Chelsea in January 2023, featuring in 71 matches for the Blues, scoring two goals, and contributing to their victories in the fifth-tier league and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The French defender, born on March 26, 2001, progressed through Monaco's youth ranks before making his senior team debut in September 2018. He went on to play 135 matches for the club, scoring six goals.
Chelsea has completed several transfers during the current summer window, most notably signing Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson from Brighton and Brentford respectively, as well as acquiring French defender Lacroix from Crystal Palace.
