The Ivorian Football Federation announced the appointment of Frenchman Hervé Renard as technical director of the Côte d'Ivoire national team.
The Ivorian Federation issued an official statement this Tuesday evening, announcing the agreement with the French coach to lead the national team in the coming period.
The Ivorian Football Federation had decided not to renew the contract of Emerse Faé, the technical director of the Côte d'Ivoire national team, thus ending a period that saw the team win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, in addition to returning to participate in the 2026 World Cup after an absence of 12 years.
This is the second term in which Renard takes over the coaching of the Côte d'Ivoire national team, having previously led the Ivorian team from 2014 until 2015, in a total of 18 matches.
Renard succeeded in winning the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivorian national team.
