Barcelona officially announced today, Friday, its signing of a young player in a permanent transfer deal, within the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old Belgian winger, Jesse Pessou, signed a contract with the Catalan club that extends until June 30, 2031, coming from Club Brugge, as announced by Barcelona via its official website, and he will be presented in the coming period at the club's headquarters.

Pessou was born on January 22, 2008, to a family of Ghanaian origins, and is distinguished by his abilities on the wing, especially speed, strength, and skill in dribbling, and is considered one of the most prominent emerging talents in Belgium, after regularly participating with his country's youth national teams.
The player stood out notably during the 2025 European Under-17 Championship, where he contributed to the Belgian national team's reaching the semi-finals, and was also selected in the tournament's ideal squad.
Promising career
At the club level, Pessou began his career at Leuven club in 2014, and continued with it until 2020, before moving to Club Brugge's academy, which he joined six years ago.
During the past two seasons, Pessou participated in the UEFA Youth Champions League, playing 14 matches in which he scored 3 goals.
He also played since 2023 with Club NX T, the reserve team of Club Brugge, in the Belgian Second Division, and participated with it in 36 matches, despite being only 15 years old.
Pessou became the third Belgian player to join Barcelona's first team, after his compatriots Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Goovaerts.
