Liverpool English club announced in an official statement today, Monday, that it has reached an agreement to sign Ronald Araujo from the ranks of Spanish club Barcelona.
According to what Liverpool explained in its official statement, Araujo will join the English club on loan for the 2026-2027 season, pending a work permit and international approval.
And Araujo, who will wear the number 33 shirt, said in statements to the official Liverpool website: "I am excited to play with Liverpool, I am very happy, and very excited to be at this club with its rich history".
He added: "I am excited to meet my teammates at Liverpool, to start playing, and I am excited and ready to start with the team, and I believe it was the ideal step for me at this stage of my career".

He continued: "Joining Liverpool is a necessary step for me, and as soon as I learned of Liverpool's interest, we moved very quickly, and as I said, I am very happy to be here and excited to start my career. I am grateful for this interest, and this was the right step at the right time".
Araujo has played more than 200 matches with Barcelona and won three Spanish league titles since joining in 2018, including last season's title, and was handed the captain's armband earlier this year.
