English club Newcastle United announced a change to its logo, adopting a new crest that will debut next season.

The club stated on its website: "Every badge has a story. Our badge is shaped by the history of our city, pulses with our ambition, and paves our way toward the future. With great pride, we unveil the new badge for Newcastle United, chosen by our fans to be the symbol of our club starting from the 2027-2028 season."

It added, "Our badge was born from the heart of the city's coat of arms and its heritage, and it continues to draw its spirit from there. It is a tribute to our past, an embodiment of our present, and an eternal symbol around which generations of fans across the world will rally and believe."

The new badge will be gradually adopted over the coming months across all signage, digital platforms, and broadcast channels, adorning the team's official kits at the start of the 2027-2028 season.

David Hopkinson, the club's Chief Executive Officer, said: "In my professional career, I have never seen a community cherish its badge and breathe with love for it as much as here. Therefore, this work has been a great honor and a heavy responsibility carried by each one of us."

He added, "We asked our fans questions to which we did not have answers, and their response was decisive and clear (Preserve our legacy, hold onto the elements we love, and do not start from scratch). From that moment on, we moved in every step according to the boundaries set by the fans, and it was natural for them to have the final word and the ultimate decision."

He concluded, "Our new badge is the fruit of more than two years of comprehensive consultations, which included events with supporters, focus groups, workshops, and opinion polls."

Newcastle's current badge had remained unchanged since 1988.
