The German national team is preparing to face Serbia tomorrow, Thursday, in the third matchday of Group 2 in the UEFA Nations League.
German newspaper "Bild" revealed that the German defender will leave the national team camp after sustaining an ankle injury during Germany's recent training sessions.
The report clarified that Schlotterbeck's injury is not as serious as his previous injury during the 2026 World Cup held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The report stated that the German defender will not undergo surgery, but he may miss Borussia Dortmund's match against Werder Bremen on Friday, October 9, following the current international break, in the fifth round of the Bundesliga.
Schlotterbeck played for the German national team during the current international break against the Netherlands, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
He did not play against Greece in the second UEFA Nations League match, which ended with Germany losing 1-0.
Schlotterbeck has featured in two matches for Borussia Dortmund this season.
Borussia Dortmund tops the Bundesliga standings with their current points tally.
