The Spanish newspaper "Sport" highlighted the last day that the Barcelona team is spending in their preparatory training camp in England, as part of the preparations for the upcoming new season 2026/27.
Barcelona, led by coach Hans Flick, headed to England last Monday to hold their training camp where they played a friendly match against Birmingham City on Friday and drew two goals apiece, before resorting to penalty kicks which the Barca lost.
Egyptian talent Hamza Abdel Karim, the professional, participated in Barcelona's match against Birmingham City and scored both goals for Hans Flick's squad.
Barcelona were scheduled to play a closed-door friendly against Preston North End today, but it was canceled due to the opponent not having enough players because of numerous absences.
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that Hans Flick had to change his plans due to the cancellation of the Preston friendly, as he held a training match between Barcelona players.
It explained that the match kicked off on Monday afternoon and consisted of three halves, with each half lasting 20 minutes.
It stated that the first team included: Szczesny, Xavi Espart, Christensen, Gerard Martin, Jofre Torrents, Marc Bernal, Casado, Oriol Goret, Karim Adeyemi, Ibrahima Tunkara, Alex Gonzalez.
As for the second team, it included Iker Rodriguez, Hector Fort, Ronald Araujo, Curtis, Busquets, Gil Fernandez, Brian Farinas, Fermin Lopez, Roni Bardji, Toni Fernandez, Rafinha.
The aforementioned Barcelona training match ended in a 1-1 draw, with the goals scored by Xavi Espart and Fermin Lopez, and the match was officiated by an English referee.
What was strange was Hamza Abdel Karim's absence from participating in today's training match, and whether that was based on a technical decision by Hans Flick or there was another reason.
Flick received good news in that match after Araujo, Rafinha and Fermin Lopez participated normally, as part of their preparations to join the new season in full physical fitness, while Balde was absent as he has not fully recovered from back pain.
