South Africa head coach Pitso Mosimane has appealed to Bafana Bafana fans to be patient and offer their support ahead of the match against Egypt.
The South African national team will face hosts Egypt at 9:00 PM tomorrow, Sunday, at Cairo Stadium in a friendly match that concludes both teams' current international window.
Foreign press reports indicate that Mosimane is expected to make extensive changes to his lineup against Egypt compared to the squad that secured six valuable points in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Pitso Mosimane stated in comments reported by the South African newspaper Idiski Times: "We appeal to everyone to be patient and support these players."
The South African coach added: "They are making their way into the first team, and we need to assess the level of the available players... Unfortunately, we will face a big team on Sunday."
He continued: "The challenge lies in the necessity of letting the players swim with the sharks in tomorrow's match, but we have nothing to lose... It is a friendly match, and we need to see what they can deliver at this level; therefore, we ask for patience and support for these young players."
He completed: "We will not play any other friendly matches until the Africa Cup of Nations next year, so this is their only opportunity."
Pitso Mosimane concluded his remarks by saying: "We must realize that we played qualifier matches against Guinea and Eritrea and accomplished the task, which is the most important thing... It is essential to build a team for the upcoming World Cup, and if we don't field them now, when will we see them play?"
South Africa began its campaign in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-1 victory over Guinea, followed by a 5-0 win against Eritrea.
