Klopp on training Germany: I am ready and have regained my energy.

Via FilGoal

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that he is in negotiations with the German Football Association to take over as coach of the German national team, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned from his position after the exit from the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.

Klopp said in statements to the German network "Magenta TV": "Julian has resigned, and the federation is currently working on selecting a new coach, and they have already reached out to me as part of these efforts."

The German Football Association indicated in a statement regarding the future of the national team that Klopp has expressed his willingness to take on the role, but the coach clarified that negotiations will take some time due to his contract with the Red Bull network, where he holds the position of global football director.

Klopp added: "About two years ago, I left Liverpool and said that I no longer had the energy to continue working or to stay another year with the club. Since then, I have regained my energy significantly, and I am now ready."

The German coach spoke about his potential successor, saying: "Julian Nagelsmann is an excellent coach and is not responsible for the deeper problems facing the national team."

He concluded: "German football is going through a pivotal phase, and we need to change things radically. Whether I take on the role in the end or someone else, it does not change the fact that change has become necessary."
