Riyadh Club said in a statement on its account on the "X" platform:
"Referring to the statement conveyed by a journalist on behalf of the Saudi Professional League Association, which claimed that Riyadh Club was banned from contracts due to not meeting financial requirements, and named the club among those concerned, Riyadh Club wishes to clarify the following:
"Riyadh Club expresses its surprise at what was stated in the statement and confirms that it received an official letter indicating its ban from contracts or not meeting financial requirements or obligations, contrary to what was stated in the statement.
The club confirms that it obtained the approval of the Professional League Association to complete the contract with a foreign player, after fulfilling all regulatory procedures and requirements, without any remarks or issues.
"Riyadh Club emphasizes the importance of accuracy and transparency when publishing any statements or news, and avoiding the circulation of inaccurate information that may harm clubs and affect their negotiating positions.
The club reserves all its regulatory and legal rights regarding overdue financial entitlements with third parties, and any financial and legal consequences that may result from delayed payment, and confirms its right to claim them and the due compensations through regulatory means and sports judicial bodies."
The Saudi Riyadh Club has entered into serious negotiations with Al Ahly to include the Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet".
The Saudi Riyadh Club reached an agreement with Al Ahly to include Trezeguet during the summer transfer period, according to Saudi reports (details).
Trezeguet is currently with the Egyptian national team and is preparing to face Australia in the round of 32 of the World Cup.
The 31-year-old winger is under contract with Al Ahly until the summer of 2030.
