The Egyptian national team will face Australia at nine o'clock on Friday evening, in the round of 16 of the World Cup, scheduled in Dallas, Texas, USA.
Ashour said in statements on the sidelines of the last training session, reported by the official website of the Football Association: "I am happy with the great fan support, the fans are one of the most important weapons of the team in the tournament and the biggest motivation to achieve victory in every match."
He added, "The Egyptian team is ready for the match and will fight to make its fans happy, and we enter the match with one goal, which is to win to secure the ticket to the round of 16."
The national team midfielder continued, "We respect the strong Australian team, they have very distinguished players, and we have watched their matches in the tournament."
He concluded, "All teams are strong and all matches are difficult, and there is no opponent less difficult than the other."
The Egyptian national team delegation traveled yesterday, Wednesday, from Spokane, Washington, to Dallas, Texas, in preparation for facing Australia in the round of 32 of the World Cup.
The Egyptian national team succeeded in qualifying after finishing second in Group G with 7 points, trailing the leading Belgian team by goal difference.
The Egyptian national team achieved victory against New Zealand 3-1, while drawing against Belgium and Iran with the same result 1-1.
This is the first time in history that the Egyptian national team has achieved a victory in the World Cup, as well as the first time it has passed the group stage.
As for the Australian team, they finished second in Group D with 4 points, surpassing Paraguay in third place by goal difference.
The winner of the Egypt-Australia match will face the winner of the Argentina-Cape Verde match in the round of 16.
