The Egyptian national team secured a 5-0 victory over South Sudan in the second round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Speaking to ON Sport, the Egypt international said: "We put in great effort throughout the 90 minutes despite the hot weather. We managed to deliver a good performance and achieve a big result worthy of the name of the Egyptian national team."

He added, "I changed my boots three times during the match, and my toes got burned due to the high temperatures. We must make sacrifices for our country."

Emam Ashour played the entire match and assisted Egypt's fourth goal, scored by Omar Marmoush.

Mohamed Salah, who plays for Trabzonspor in Turkey, and Mohamed Abdelmonem, who plays for Nice in France, were absent from the Egyptian national team for this match because it was played on an artificial turf pitch.

Egypt's goals were scored by Omar Marmoush (two), Ziko, Ibrahim Adel, and Hamza Abdelkarim.

Egypt raised their points tally to four in the group, following their scoreless draw with Angola in the first round.
