The Moroccan team officially secured its qualification to the quarter-finals of the World Cup after defeating Canada this evening, Saturday.
Morocco defeated Canada 3-0 in the match held at "Houston" Stadium, opening the round of 16 matches of the World Cup.
The Atlas Lions became the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
Moroccan players entered a wave of loud celebrations after qualifying for the World Cup quarter-finals.
As soon as the final whistle blew, scenes of joy erupted on the field, with players running towards the Moroccan fans who filled the stands.
The players exchanged greetings and chants with the fans who did not stop singing and cheering throughout the match.
There was special joy for Azzedine Ounahi, who scored two goals and won the Man of the Match award against Canada.
