Sultan Al-Ghannam, a player for Saudi club Al-Nassr, has begun the running phase of his rehabilitation program in the Qatari capital, Doha, to recover from the injury he sustained last May.
The 32-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in the AFC Champions League Two final against Japan's Gamba Osaka, who won the continental title with a 1-0 victory in a match held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadhia" reported that Al-Ghannam is undergoing the third stage, which focuses on continuing to strengthen the injured knee muscle.
Al-Ghannam has been playing for "Al-Alami" since the summer of 2018, after joining from Al-Faisaly. His contract with the capital-based club runs until the summer of 2028.
Khalid Al-Ghannam has played 292 matches for Al-Nassr across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 42 assists. He also helped the team win the Saudi Roshn League title last season.
Al-Nassr is currently preparing to face their rivals Al-Diriyah next Friday (October 9), as part of the eighth round of the Saudi Roshn League fixtures.
The "Yellow of the Capital" occupies third place in the Saudi Roshn League table with 16 points, trailing league leaders Al-Hilal by two points after seven rounds have been played.
