A source from the Arab Football Union revealed the truth about Egypt hosting the upcoming edition of the Arab Club Cup.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat", Cairo will host the Arab Club Cup in the summer of 2027.
A source from the Arab Union told FilGoal.com:"There is a proposal to hold the Arab Club Cup in Cairo, but hosting the tournament is conditional on obtaining approvals from major clubs to participate, such as Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Zamalek, Al-Ahly, Pyramids, and other major clubs from other Arab countries."
He continued, "This is normal in order to attract sponsors for the tournament, and we are currently discussing with those clubs the possibility of their participation, based on their continental commitments."
The newspaper noted that Cairo's hosting of the anticipated tournament comes as an extension of the notable presence of Egyptian fans.
Al-Nassr is the defending champion after winning the final against their opponent Al-Nassr 2-1 thanks to a brace by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Zamalek participated in this edition of the tournament.
Zamalek was eliminated from the group stage after finishing third with 4 points.
Al-Shabab topped the group with 7 points, while Al-Nassr came second with 5 points.
Tunisian club US Monastir finished last in the group without any points.
