Saudi press reports revealed today, Saturday, details of the injury to Portuguese player Roger Fernandes, the Al-Ittihad Saudi professional, after playing the friendly match against Spanish side Malaga.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiya", Fernandes suffered a minor bruise in the ankle joint during the friendly against Malaga.
The same newspaper added that the Portuguese player will return to training after the vacation granted to the players following the delegation's return from Spain at dawn last Friday.
Al-Ittihad Club had announced the absence of four players from the squad: Abdulrahman Al-Aboud, Marwan Al-Sahafi, Farha Al-Shamrani, and Moroccan Youssef Al-Nasiri, due to muscle fatigue.
The Al-Ittihad team is expected to resume training at the club's headquarters in preparation for the start of the new 2026-2027 season.
"Al-Ameed" will face an Asian task on the 11th of this month when it meets Emirati side Al-Jazira in the AFC Champions League Elite playoff.
The Al-Ittihad team aims to deliver a standout season to make up for the previous one, after exiting without winning any titles.
