Didier Deschamps said in statements to the FIFA website: "This is the third consecutive qualification to the World Cup semi-finals, and this is a good thing.. It may seem logical and natural, but reaching it is not easy".
Regarding the victory over Morocco, he said: "The match was complicated, and the penalty kick that we missed also made things difficult, but when it is Kylian Mbappé who takes it and misses it, there is no need to worry, because he never doubts himself.. We are now in the place we wanted to be".
Regarding Mbappé's injury and his substitution in the match, he said: "Kylian was suffering a little from his ankle and felt some pain, while Manu Koné suffered a bruise in his knee, and this is normal given the succession of matches".
Didier Deschamps concluded his statements by saying: "I am happy for Warren Zaïre-Emery for what he presented in the match, but I cannot satisfy everyone by being present basically in every match".
