Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente refused to comment on the crisis involving Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo and his departure from the training camp.
Spain is preparing to face Czechia in the third matchday of the UEFA Nations League group stage, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday.
The Spanish coach said during the press conference: "We are suffering from a lack of time for players to recover. We prioritize player health above all else. I prefer to rely on players who are in optimal physical and medical condition."
He added, "When I talk about rotating players, I mean selecting those who are best prepared for the match. Usually, there is more stability in the goalkeeper position, but changes can occur in any position."
He emphasized, "All this is the result of training and hard work. You must invest in your players, but it is competent coaches who train them well, and coaches are becoming increasingly better prepared and ready."
He concluded, "The controversy surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo? I cannot comment on the matter because I do not have sufficient facts. Every situation has its own unique circumstances that do not repeat themselves."
Spain tops the group with 6 points, followed by England in second place with 3 points, level with third-placed Croatia, while Czechia sits at the bottom of the group without any points.
