German coach Thomas Tuchel, manager of the England national team, emphasized that the Manchester City case is on the minds of the squad's dressing room, confirming that despite these issues, everyone is focused on the match against Croatia.
The England national team is preparing to face Croatia tomorrow, Saturday, in the third round of Group C matches.
Tuchel said in the press conference about the Manchester City case: "It is a big issue and everyone is talking about it, so there is no need for another voice. I am happy that I am not that voice, as no one needs my limited knowledge of the subject."
Manchester City has been charged with 115 counts by the English Football Association. These charges revolve around: 54 counts related to providing inaccurate financial information - 35 counts related to failing to cooperate with Premier League investigations - 14 counts related to failing to disclose details of player and coach wages - 7 breaches related to profitability and sustainability rules - 5 breaches related to UEFA regulations.
He continued, "The players are talking about it, and the Manchester City players are also discussing it. We talk to them about it, but briefly. They are ready for tomorrow's match, but it is certainly a big issue within the camp."
Regarding the match against Croatia, he said: "We expect a difficult game tomorrow against a football powerhouse and a proud country. They have a squad full of quality, featuring a mix of young players and experienced veterans, along with a young coach. Everyone will be ready to give their all for the new coach."
He added, "The match looks like a cup tie, perhaps even a cup semi-final. I am a huge admirer of the Croatian players; they possess great technical quality and are strong competitors. It is a promising match."
