Ultimately, the Argentine striker remained with the Spanish capital club and rejected a move to England's Arsenal.

Olmo stated in remarks quoted by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo": "Julián is a great player, a top-class striker, undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, but that's football."

He continued: "I don't understand Atlético Madrid's stance regarding Julián; ultimately, everyone has their dreams, and I believe Julián was clear about that as well."

He added: "He fought for his dreams, but ultimately, there are also other external circumstances beyond control; in this sense, this was one of them, and that is obvious."

He emphasized: "But life goes on. We personally expect a very good year, certainly, with fierce competition, because other clubs have strengthened their squads very well, but I believe we have enough talent to compete."

He elaborated: "There are new objectives: continuing to win, continuing to defend our league, cup, and super cup titles, while emphasizing our strong desire to compete in the Champions League, and we have a squad strong enough for that."

He further stated: "Real Madrid has excellently strengthened its squad with outstanding players, and so have we. Ultimately, our goal is all the same: to win everything. We will fight for what we have, just as we always have."
