Argentina defeated Egypt 3-2 in that match, with goals scored by Cristian Romero, Lionel Messi, and Enzo Fernández.
Messi did not score in Argentina's 3-1 victory over Switzerland in the quarter-finals of the same tournament.
He also failed to score in the semi-final match against England, despite providing both assists for Argentina's goals in their 2-1 win.
In the final against Spain, Messi again did not score, as the trophy ultimately went to La Roja, who secured victory with a late goal by substitute Ferran Torres.
Having hung up his international boots today, Messi's final international match was against Spain, while his goal past Mostafa Shobeir remains his last mark on the international scoresheet.
