Chelsea club officially announced the signing of Jordan Henderson in a free transfer deal, with a contract extending for two seasons.

The midfielder will join the team's ranks in preparation for the start of the 2026-2027 season.
Henderson said after joining Chelsea: "Considering the size of the club, the manager whom I greatly admire, in addition to the quality of the players, this was a great opportunity I could not refuse."
He added, "I was also greatly impressed by the owners' desire to put Chelsea back on the right track and achieve success."
He concluded, "For me, it's about giving everything I have every day on and off the pitch, to help my teammates and the team in the best possible way. I am very excited to get started."
Henderson began his career with Sunderland, making his first-team debut in a match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in November 2008.
After a loan spell at Coventry City, he established himself in Sunderland's starting lineup, playing 79 matches for the team, during which he also made his England debut.
The midfielder moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2011, where he became one of the team's key pillars, before taking the captain's armband in June 2015, succeeding Steven Gerrard.
Henderson led Liverpool to the UEFA Champions League title in 2019, followed by the Premier League the next season, the club's first title after a 30-year absence.
He also won the FA Cup, the League Cup twice, the Community Shield, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup with Liverpool.
He later moved to Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, before experiencing a stint with Dutch side Ajax, then English club Brentford, leading to his transfer to Chelsea.
Internationally, Henderson made 91 appearances for England, and was part of the "Three Lions" squad that finished as runners-up at Euro 2020 and placed third at the 2026 World Cup.
Thus, Jordan Henderson becomes Chelsea's fifth signing after Valentin Barco, Maxence Lacroix, Morgan Rogers, and Danny Welbeck.
