Barcelona coach Hans Flick revealed his club's stance on signing a striker during the current summer transfer window.
Barcelona concluded its preparatory camp in England, during which it faced Birmingham and lost on penalties.
Barcelona currently has in its squad, in the outright striker position, both Hamza Abdel Karim and Ferran Torres.
Flick told journalists: "A striker deal? It will depend on the team. I have great confidence in Deco and we know we have to do something, and the matter also depends on Ferran Torres."
Regarding the possibility of signing a midfielder, he said: "We are always open to strengthening the team. The truth is that we already have players in this position, but we will see how the situation develops in the coming weeks."
He continued: "If I compare this season with the first year I arrived here in 2024, I think this season we have higher quality in the players and higher quality in the youth players and La Masia. Tonkar is a great talent, as is Aourian."
He added: "We have many young players. Xavi Espart also played in the second striker position. His performance was very good in the Birmingham match, but even in training you can see that he is at the highest level, and there are many other things. This is what I saw in the past weeks."
Hamza Abdel Karim scored two goals in the friendly match against Birmingham.
