The Egyptian basketball team is preparing to participate in the FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup, which is being held from July 11 to 19 in the Czech Republic.
The Egyptian girls' basketball team is placed in Group 4, alongside Canada, Italy, and New Zealand, with the top four teams advancing to the round of 16.
The national team is scheduled to begin its campaign in the Women's World Cup tomorrow, Saturday, against New Zealand at 3:15 p.m., followed by its second match on Sunday against Canada, before concluding the first round by facing Italy in the match set for next Tuesday.
The squad includes: Maryam Hazem, Judy Walid, Hania Nasser, Judy Mohamed, Fatima Mohamed Hassan, Leila Hossam, Hala Moataz, Sidra Haitham, Zeina Ayman Halim, Dana Sherif Junaidi, Habiba Karim Shorour, Habiba Jamal.
The technical staff consists of Mohamed Mahrous as head coach, Nihal Saad as general coach, Magdy Salama as coach, Ahmed Gwaily as specialist, Farid Samir as strength and conditioning coach, Fatima Jamal as team doctor, and Mona Mohamed as team administrator.
The head of the Egyptian girls' team delegation is Mohamed Ihab Mohsen, a member of the board of the Egyptian Basketball Federation.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian girls' basketball team qualified for the Under-17 World Cup after winning the African Under-16 Championship last year.
