FC Barcelona has opened the door to the departure of five players from its squad in the final days of the summer transfer window, a move aimed at generating financial liquidity to help the club complete its maneuvers before the market closes.
According to what was revealed by the Spanish television program "El Chiringuito," Barcelona is prepared to listen to offers for the five players Frenkie de Jong, Jules Koundé, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casadó, and Héctor Fort, with the possibility of any of them leaving if suitable offers are received.
This move comes in the context of Barcelona's desire to create financial space that allows it to sign a top-class striker, after the club focused on strengthening its squad with several important signings during the current summer.
The situations of Casadó and Fort appear the clearest, as their departures have become closer than ever, with both players absent from Barcelona's squad for the La Liga opener against Elche, alongside Balde. Meanwhile, Spanish reports indicated that the trio has received the green light to complete their transfer procedures.
It is worth noting that Balde has transformed from a starter into one of the club's most prominent open files in recent days, as manager Hansi Flick omitted him from the squad for the Elche match. At the same time, Spanish reports confirmed that the German manager prefers João Cancelo at left-back, a move that
opened the door for the Spanish full-back to move to the English Premier League, with his name particularly linked to Manchester United.
In the case of Jules Koundé, the French defender's future has also become a subject of question, after reports indicated that Flick is inclined to rely on Eric García at right-back, a role Koundé primarily occupied for long periods with Barcelona.
However, the player remains among the team's options at center-back, making his departure contingent on the arrival of a strong and suitable offer for the club.
The situation is not much different for Frenkie de Jong, who is considered one of the most prominent names in the squad, despite his continued presence among the team's elements.
His departure would give Barcelona the opportunity to secure significant financial returns and alleviate the burdens associated with the wage budget, but his exit would be more complex given his importance and experience within the team.
