Aston Villa announced on Tuesday the signing of Senegal international Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbaye signed a five-season contract with Aston Villa.
Villa did not disclose the transfer fee, but reports indicated it reached 55 million euros, with Paris retaining a 10% share of any future sale of the player.
Mbaye was promoted to the Paris Saint-Germain first team in the summer of 2025.
He made 42 appearances for the first team, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
With Paris Saint-Germain, he won the French league twice, the Champions League twice, the Intercontinental Cup, the European Super Cup twice, and the French Cup once.
Aston Villa have signed the following players in the current transfer window: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alejandro Garnacho, Leon Goretzka, Modou Keba Cissé, Matteo Ruggeri, Zion Suzuki, João Gomes, and Johan Manzambi.
Aston Villa opened the season with a 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the European Super Cup.
Aston Villa lost 4-0 to Brighton and 1-0 to Arsenal in the first two rounds of the English Premier League.
