FC Barcelona has finalized a new signing to bolster their attack, following the failed attempt to acquire Atlético Madrid star Julián Álvarez, whom the Colchoneros refused to sell to the Blaugrana.
Throughout the current summer transfer window, Barcelona sought to sign Álvarez, but Atlético Madrid's management firmly rejected selling the Argentine international to Barça, insisting on activating the player's release clause, which stands at €500 million.
In this context, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Barcelona successfully reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Gabriel Jesus, who is set to officially become a player for the Spanish club within the coming hours.

Romano added via his official account on the 'X' platform that Jesus will travel to Spain tomorrow, Monday, to undergo medical examinations before signing his transfer contracts with Barcelona.
He clarified that Barcelona will pay Arsenal €10 million to secure Jesus, alongside additional incentives and add-ons related to the deal. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old player has received approval from the English club's management to travel to Spain tomorrow for his medical tests.

Romano further stated that Jesus will sign a two-year contract with Barcelona, running until the end of June 2028, with an option to extend for an additional season until 2029.
The Italian journalist explained that Jesus immediately accepted Arsenal's offer, viewing it as the opportunity of a lifetime for him.

Previously, Barcelona had been linked with signing several strikers, most notably Lautaro Martínez, the Inter Milan star, but the Nerazzurri insisted on keeping the player in their squad.
Gabriel Jesus will thus become Barcelona's fifth signing this summer, following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Jesé Piqué, and goalkeeper Dominik Livaković.
