According to Fabrizio Romano, the journalist specializing in transfer market news, via his account on the "X" site, negotiations are ongoing between Ajax Amsterdam and Azzedine Ounahi, the Moroccan midfielder and Spanish Girona player.

Romano stated that the Moroccan star's contract with Girona includes a penalty clause worth 25 million euros.
The 26-year-old player holds a contract with the Spanish club until the summer of 2030.
The Moroccan midfielder transferred to Girona's ranks in the summer of 2025, for 6 million euros, coming from French Marseille.
The Moroccan star participated in 24 matches with the Spanish team, across all competitions, in the past season, where he scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists.
Ounahi scored two goals in the 2026 World Cup with the Moroccan national team, with the two goals coming against Canada in the match that ended with the Atlas Lions' victory in the round of 16, by a score of 3-0.
