Saudi press reports revealed that Saudi club Al-Fateh is close to signing Moroccan coach Jamal Sellami to lead the team this season, replacing coach Khalid Al-Atawi.

The decision to dismiss Al-Atawi and hire Sellami comes in light of the team's results this season, having not tasted victory after seven matches, with three draws and four losses.

According to the Saudi newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat," the management of "Al-Namoozaji" (Al-Fateh) moved to search for a suitable coach to take over the team's leadership in the upcoming phase.

The Jordanian Football Association had previously dismissed coach Jamal Sellami after the national team exited the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, which was held in the summer in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

This marks Sellami's first experience in Asia, following several stints in Africa, most notably leading the Moroccan club Raja Casablanca, along with the Morocco U-17 and U-20 national teams.

Jamal Sellami had previously been linked with managing Zamalek at the beginning of the current season, but the Moroccan coach rejected the offer from "The White Castle," according to Moroccan press reports. Read the details

It is worth noting that Al-Fateh faces a difficult match upon the resumption of the Roshan Saudi League, against Asian champions Al-Ahli, next Friday, as part of the eighth round.
