Hamdy Fathy, the Egyptian national team midfielder, has returned to training with his club Al Wakhar in Qatar as he nears recovery from injury.
Days ago, Hamdy Fathy underwent nose surgery.
The Egyptian international attended his club's training session on Sunday evening wearing a protective mask.
The former Al Ahly player had missed the Egyptian national team camp during the current international break due to this injury.
The midfielder suffered the injury during Al Wakhar's match against Al Sailiya in the Qatar Cup before the start of the international break.
Subsequently, Ibrahim Hassan, the manager of the Egyptian national team, stated: "Hamdy Fathy sustained an injury with his club Al Wakhar in Qatar, confirming his absence from the national team camp."
Fathy, aged 31, has earned 67 caps for the Egyptian national team and scored 3 goals, having been a key contributor to the squad participating in the 2026 World Cup.
