Feran Garcia, a player for Real Betis, has joined the Spain national team squad, replacing Atletico Madrid star Alejandro Grimaldo, who is experiencing some discomfort that will prevent him from participating with La Roja.
The Spanish national team is preparing to play two matches during the current international break. They will host the Czech Republic on October 3rd, before traveling to face Croatia on the 6th of the same month, as part of the UEFA Nations League competition.
Feran Garcia in the Spanish national team
Feran Garcia joined the Spain national team after Grimaldo felt some discomfort in his left thigh during the warm-up preceding La Roja's match against Croatia at Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
Medical examinations conducted on Grimaldo resulted in his withdrawal from the Spain national team camp due to the injury he sustained, out of concern by La Roja's coaching staff to avoid any additional risks for the Atletico Madrid player.
The official account of the Royal Spanish Football Federation posted: "Feran Garcia replaces Grimaldo in the Spain national team camp, who is absent due to discomfort in his left thigh."
Thus, Feran Garcia joins the Spain national team for the first time since October 2023, in preparation for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and Croatia.
